About the Position: You will serve as a Target Systems Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator) for the Directorate of Training, Mobility & Security Training Division Range Maintenance Branch.
Duties
Coordinate and control installation training areas and facilities.
Inspect and oversees usage of training areas by units training on the installation.
Inspect and troubleshoots electrical pop-up target mechanisms.
Inspect and service ranges, training areas, facilities and firing positions prior to unit arrival, before live fire exercises and before unit departure for occupation, usage and clearance.
Ensure that controls and target mechanisms are operational prior to and after use.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A current State driver's license is required; must be able to operate both a four-wheel drive vehicle with standard transmission and an off-road all-terrain vehicle. Work requires driving on hazardous roads and terrain.
- Incumbent must be in good physical condition. Work requires frequent exposure to foul weather conditions.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Position have been designated "Mission Essential". In the even of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster).
- Position requires Range Safety Training and Certification, which may be obtain within one year of employment.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 pounds and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
- Must be able to operate four wheel-drive vehicle with standard transmission and an off road all-terrain vehicle.

Physical Efforts: Work requires inspection of field sites, necessitating walking, standing and climbing. Incumbent must be able to pick up and carry 45 pounds and up to 75 pounds with assistance.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in all kinds of weather in an outdoor environment; however, some work is performed in an office environment. Some work is performed at range sites where the exposures to hazardous materials or instruments exist.
