Duties
As a/an Deputy Director, Office of Disaster Recovery, you will:
Provide direct supervision to ODR Policy and Grants Management Division Directors.
Develop, recommend, and negotiate internal and external policy positions as well as short- and long-term goals to meet new or changing legislative or regulatory requirements or funding levels.
Provide advice and guidance to CPD senior management, public interest groups, as well as other senior Departmental managers such as the Secretary, the Deputy Secretary, and Assistant Secretary for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Work with the Office of the Inspector General and the Government Accountability Office to ensure that reviews of CDBG-DR funded activities are correctly focused and have positive impact for the program. Ensure that CPD systems development process, particularly those related to the Disaster Recovery Grant Reporting (DRGR) System, account for CDBG-DR issues in design and deployment of such systems.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Managing or leading a team working in disaster recovery or community/economic development programs or projects; AND
- Leading a team in the development and analysis of disaster recovery or community/economic development policies; AND
- Collaboratively working with Federal, State and/or local governments, as well as nonprofit organization stakeholders; AND
- Serving as an advisor to senior management on disaster recovery or community/economic development issues.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
