About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation on Edwards AFB, Ca.
Responsible for the general oversight of the everyday operations portion of Outdoor Recreation (ODR) to include operating the
checkout counter, scheduling and supervising employees, customer service, and assuring cleanliness of the facility and outlying
facilities.
Duties
Responsible for the general oversight of the everyday operations portion of Outdoor Recreation (ODR) to include operating the
checkout counter, scheduling and supervising employees, customer service, and assuring cleanliness of the facility and outlying
facilities. Trains employees in all aspects of daily operations to include: cash handling, procedures, customer service, etc. Ensures
all cash handling procedures are in compliance with applicable regulations and directives. Selects for vacancies, rates
performance, and takes or recommends personnel actions such as promotion or disciplinary actions. Knowledgeable of all services
provided, such as cable boxes, key cutting operation, fax and copy machine usage, park rental, and resale operations. Oversees all
aspects of UPS service to ensure that service to the customer is efficient and accurate. Forecasts requirement for program supplies,
equipment and property for operations and other areas as specified by the ODR Director. Keeps appropriate accountant paperwork
and documentation as required for accurate operations. Completes paperwork for other areas within ODR as necessary. Provides
information related to self-directed recreation/adventure opportunities, base parks, Famcamp, Recreation Vehicle lot, vehicle sales
lot, Edwards Riding Center, BMX track, paint ball, and the skeet and trap activity. Assists in planning and offering base-wide
events as well as off-base activities and trips. Schedules and coordinates the details of recurring events associated with the above,
and arranges for publicity to ensure maximum effectiveness in attracting and motivating participants. Maintains contact with
organizations in the local community to obtain and furnish patrons with current information related to outdoor recreation. Ensures
cleanliness and adherence to sanitary, fire and safety regulations in all assigned facilities. Receives/processes money and assigns
spaces for Recreational Vehicle lot. Collects, safeguards and deposits fees received from Edwards Riding Center, Famcamp, and
Equipment Center customers. Performs timekeeper duties for ODR staff as required. Performs other duties as assigned. May be
required to work uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and family days. May operate a
government vehicle on or off the military installation.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This is a drug testing position and will require a pre employment drug screening and incumbent is subject to random screening for drug use.
- Shift work; May be required to work uncommon tour of duty to include days, nights, weekends, holidays, and family days.
- Drivers License is required to operate a government vehicle on or off the military installation.
- Physical Examination may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience in recreation retail/rental management, customer service, personnel management, and funds handling required.
Satisfactory completion of National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) required. Prior NAF management experience is highly
desirable.
This is a drug testing designated position (TDP). Incumbent is subject to random screening for drug use.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
