About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Joint Personal Property Shipping Offices-Mid Atlantic, Fort Belvoir, VA.

Duties

Determine and/or advise entitlements or procedures related to temporary storage of goods, weight allowances; prohibited items; and shipment of personal property including various methods available. Provide information and/or advice to military and civilian personnel regarding their entitlements for shipment and storage of personal property. Receive, review, and/or process correspondence, orders, and applications to move property from residence and non-temporary storage. Forward appropriate advance documents to other transportation offices for movement of property both overseas and within the continental United States. Determine the most efficient and economical rates and routes for shipment and/or storage of household goods, unaccompanied baggage, personal effects, and/or mobile homes.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 (NACI) security investigation.
  • This position may require the incumbent to travel (TDY) up to 10% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementCustomer ServiceTransportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
