You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist in the Property Management Division of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (
NSWC PHILA DIV).
Duties
You will be responsible for implementation and administration of the inventory management, material coordination, inventory control of the Operating Materials and Supplies (OM and S) and General Equipment Programs.
You will utilize automated data processing systems for material controls, records, and data.
You will monitor quality and accuracy of inventory information data.
You will identify material coordination and the impact on material needs required by planned schedules and plans.
You will support inventory/materials control programs and implementing material management support plans.
You will manage items with different supply and demand trends.
You will review and analyze operational reports to make decision about supply transactions to resolve problems.
You will determine requirements including phase procurements by reviewing work schedules.
You will review plans, schedules, and data to advise management on materials needed.
You will monitor the effectiveness of the inventory management operations by identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
You will be responsible for determining, initiating, and coordinating required actions by establishing and maintaining liaison with program managers, project engineers, and logisticians.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
FOR GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Authorize changes in expediture and stocking levels based on order and usage records, modify stock levels, inventory, and storage points, and inventory management.
FOR GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Maintains inventory control records in an automated system for materials and supplies.

Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
For the GS-11 position:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree;
OR
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree;
OR
Possession of an LL.M. degree in a field directly related to the position being filled;
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
For the GS-09 position:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree;
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master's or equivalent degree;
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D., in a field directly related to the position being filled;
OR
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
