Duties

Oversee the maintenance, repair and reliability of numerous systems and facilities directly supporting Army Tenants and other Department of Defense tenants at Fort Detrick Manage all maintenance matters, planning, programming, and establishing deadlines and priorities Direct Work for Facility Maintenance and Repairs Provide technical guidance and assistance during malfunctions Performs supervisory duties such as, establishing performance standards, initiating requests for personnel actions, and interviewing and recommending selections of applicants Performs as Facilities Manager, making recommendations to higher headquarters for improvements to facilities Certifies and Manages the Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste Programs, ensuring regulatory compliance in all matters

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a two year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
