You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Navy Munitions Command, CONUS West Division, Detachment Point Loma NMC CWD DET PT LOMA. You will serve as the Deputy to the Officer-in-Charge of the Detachment, and act as the Officer-in-Charge in his/her absence.
Duties
You will provide quality assurance support for receipt, issue, and on/off station shipment of all ordnance items.
You will support the stowage, handling, and processing of ordnance and ordnance-related materials at the site.
You will initiate, develop, revise, and submit for review and implementation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Standard Inspection Procedures (SIPs) in accordance with quality assurance directives and other applicable local directives.
You will represent the detachment, ensuring that inspections, inventories, processing, and handling of ordnance is performed in accordance with approved procedures and in compliance with specifications.
You will perform required oversight, inspections, and audits on programs such as ordnance qualification/certification programs, training, magazines, ready service lockers, tenant commands, and ordnance assembly buildings.
You will coordinate and perform liaison with other organizations of this activity, governmental organizations, and contractors to ensure compliance with the NMCCWD quality assurance program, and ordnance rules and regulations.
You will document discrepancies or errors observed during inspections and inventories of all ordnance facilities and operations.
You will develop and maintain a corrective action system for all discrepancies.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing quality assurance functions to ensure that an ordnance program adheres to established regulations, policies, or procedures. Examples of specialized experience may include: inspecting ordnance inventories; evaluating ordnance storage procedures; ensuring munitions stowage, handling, or shipments comply with applicable safety, environmental, or material accountability programs.

Education
n lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
or
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
or
Successful completion of an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
or
A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
