This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO- DAS Mgmt Budget. As a Deputy Associate Director Travel Policy and Operations, you will advise the ASM, DAS for Management & Budget, and the Office Director on Federal travel regulations, policies, and procedures. Incumbent ensures all travel procedures and practices are in compliance with the Federal Travel Regulations.

Duties

As a Deputy Associate Director Travel Policy and Operations, you will: The purpose of this position is to serve as the Deputy Associate Director, Travel Policy and Operations in the Departmental Offices, Office of the Assistant Secretary for Management (ASM) and CFO, DAS Management & Budget, Office of Financial Management, Travel. Advise and provide recommendations to high-level officials regarding travel regulations as they prepare for travel to domestic and or international localities with high political implications. Exercise discretion, judgment, and tact when dealing with senior officials and in accommodating special needs. Incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of Treasury and Federal travel regulations to apply sound judgment and to provide substantive recommendations to high-level Treasury officials. The incumbent plans, directs, and oversees the travel operations in the Departmental Offices. Administers travel programs requiring significant and extensive coordination and integration of a number of important projects and/or segments throughout Treasury.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience for the GS-15 is one year (52) weeks of experience at the GS-14 level or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience: Booking domestic and international travel for Senior leadership within a government agency.; AND Working with travel agencies and service providers that support government travel services.; AND Representing a government entity at government-wide forums, including GSA and OMB. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks. TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
