About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Headquarters Joint Special Operations Command Directorate of Intelligence Division, Fort Meade, Maryland.
Duties
Establishing updated procedures of analysis to deal with specific network and intelligence system problems.
Representing the command as the Senior All-Source Intelligence Analyst during coordination and liaison with counterparts throughout the national intelligence community.
Interface with national and theater-level counterparts to maintain situational awareness, developing strategies to accomplish sensitive/ unique intelligence requirements.
Creating an efficient joint environment to identify and neutralize the nation's security threat.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI access for the duration of employment.
- This position may require Temporary Duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations approximately 30% of the time.
- May be subjected to short notice recall. Must reside within 50-mile radius of duty location.
- May be required to work uncommon tour of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete counter-intelligence scope polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent may be required to report to work or remain at work to support the mission operations.
- This position is designated as mission essential, consistent with the criteria described in DoD instruction (DoDI) 3020.42.
- May be required to apply for Staff Like Access (SLA) certification.

Specialized experience is defined as experience managing a detailed, multi-disciplined intelligence analysis operation solving difficult and complex analytical problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
