About the Position: Serves as a Senior Transportation Specialist in the Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) leading, planning, guiding and coordinating the work of traffic operations and exercises worldwide/system-wide traffic management and control of traffic for C-E LCMC and PEO partners
Duties
Secures and analyzes freight rates used in the evaluation of contractor bids and makes recommendations regarding their use to Contracting Officers
Coordinates the development and maintenance of the Military Standard Transportation and Movement Procedures, Freight Classification, and Hazardous Material Data
Establishes and provides technical advice, assistance, and recommendations relative to transportation provisions in contractual agreements
Provides guidance on shipment expediting, transportation cost estimating, re-consignment, resolution of misdirected freight discrepancies, and reporting hazardous material
Identifies and evaluates actual/potential transportation problems based on trend analysis and customer feedback and recommends solutions to Senior Leadership

This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS-12 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS-13 grade step 10 in the broadband. This position is covered by control points to account for variances in position responsibilities within the broadband. The Control Point for this position NH-03 Traffic Management Specialist is $99,200 to $153,354 including locality at the rate of 33.26%. Management will set the selectee's pay for this position within the control point salary range consistent with the qualifications and education of the selectee and the expected contribution for the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11/ NH-02 grade level in the Federal service which includes: (1) Advising on transportation provisions; and 2) Providing recommendations on transportation issues; and 3) Coordinating Freight Classification and Hazardous Material Data to ensure properly coded IAW regulations.
