Duties
You will prepare logs and records for functional test results which include pre and post-tests.
You will perform electrical and mechanical interface of SM-2 missiles, ESSMs, missile sections, telemetering devices and crypto devices.
You will perform missile movement for a distance of 100+ feet before performing the pre-test/post-test and electro-mechanical interface between SM-2 and
ESSM missiles and integrated system in the test cell.
You will be able to operate a crane in order to install the Target Detection Device (TDD) coupler and the retention rings on the missile.
You will perform and record functional test results.
You will analyze Automated Test System (ATS) during functional testing of SM-2 missiles, missile sections, telemetering devices and crypto devices.
You will perform SPIT software upgrade of the ESSM and sections.
You will operate SPIT and perform functional software upgrade testing of the ESSM and sections.
You will review, analyze and interpret functional software update test results for acceptance or rejection.
You will perform functional/operational testing SM-2 and ESSM missiles inclusive of arming/disarming the unit under test (UUT), missile sections and telemetering devices.
You will troubleshoot and perform fault isolation procedure of electronic failures encountered, repair of defective component/sub-assemblies.
You will independently apply judgement which is based on analysis of the test results in order to determine if the failure is caused by the integrated system Automated Test System (ATS) or a component on the missile.
You will review, analyze, and interpret functional test results for acceptance or rejection of SM-2, ESSM, or missile sections.
You will perform quality inspection functions and overall test review to ensure all quality checks have been performed.
You will connect all subsystems and equipment into a functional system.
You will analyze indications obtained during operation and /or testing, correlate them to available technical data on individual equipment and/or subsystem, and determine type and location of malfunction and perform repair.
You will perform total system validation/verification after repair, assembly and /or installation.
You will perform maintenance on Automated Test System (ATS) integrated test system and SPIT.
You will conduct fault isolation procedure, alignment procedure, calibration and certification of the Automated Test System (ATS) integrated test system.
You will recommend changes to procedures, hardware and software.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Explosives certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Crane Operator certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current quality certification for production self-checks (PSC) in multiple missile systems.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Certified Test Operator (CTO) certification.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Quality Inspector (QI) certification.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on electronics to analyze and troubleshoot problems (e.g. testing, inspection, quality, failure analysis, etc.) for the sustainment or improvement of missiles.
