You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Missiles Department, Surface Missile Division, of NMC CWD DET SEAL BEACH.
Duties
You will prepare logs and records for functional test results.
You will perform quality inspection functions and overall test review to ensure all quality checks have been performed.
You will assist maintenance technicians in analyzing and diagnosing faults during isolation tests.
You will assist calibration technicians in the calibration and certification of the MK698 Test Set.
You will review, analyze, and interpret functional and or software loaded test results for acceptance or rejection.
You will perform failure analysis quality inspection, and fault isolation procedures and maintenance.
You will conduct or assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of integrated systems or electronic systems,

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You may be required to lift or carry objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- You will be required to successfully complete crane training, communications security (COMSEC), operations security (OPSEC), compressed gas safety training and radio frequency safety training.
- You will be required to acquire and maintain a Quality Inspector {QI) certification within 6 months.
- You will be required to acquire and maintain a Certified Test Operator {CTO} certification.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain quality certification for production self checks (PSC) in multiple missile systems.
- This position requires you to be crane operator certified every 3 years.
- You will be required to successfully complete explosives handling and safety training within 6 months.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: providing technical support services for electronic weapons systems (e.g. troubleshooting, repairing, maintenance, evaluation, inspection, and testing) by analyzing test data to recommend procedural, hardware or software modifications to meet quality standard requirements.
