Duties
This position is located within the Office of Administrative Law Judges (OALJ). The OALJ is charged with resolving cases set for hearing concerning natural gas, oil, and electric matters, and doing so in a manner that is consistent with the public interest, protects customers, and promotes competitive markets.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- You must provide your SF-50 (see Required Documents section).
- A background investigation is required.
- Generally, male applicants must be registered with the Selective Service.
- Relocation expenses will not be paid.
- You may be required to divest certain energy-related securities.
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
1. Candidates must have held a Federal ALJ position, at the AL-3 level or above for at least one year.
2. Must possess significant work experience in the areas of energy law, administrative law, litigation, management, and leadership. Must also demonstrate executive level experience or skills related to directing and supervising a legal or judicial office.
3. Must possess executive level experience effectively communicating complex technical and legal issues both orally and in writing, as well as the ability to fully comprehend such complex technical and legal issues.
