Duties

Coordinates with division staff to formulate organization-wide policies and procedures to improve the operations of the OIG. Develops, analyzes, and prepares revisions to OIG policies, procedures, and practices required to implement new requirements and adapt to other changes impacting the OIG. Tracking and assessing the effectiveness of communication efforts using feedback and data to improve strategies, tactics, and messaging. Developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that cover advertising, public relations, and internal communication.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • You must be a current SBA career/conditional competitive service employee.
  • You must successfully complete a background investigation. Candidates who do not respond to the background investigation request by the pre-determined due date, will be disqualified.
  • You may be required to serve a one-year supervisory probationary period.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient evidence of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of the position. Specialized Experience Statement: GS-14: One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 in the Federal service that is directly in, or related to, the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience administering or managing a staffing and recruitment program; experience with OPM rules and regulations, Title 5 CFR regulations, and OMB requirements; applying advanced Federal Human Resources management principles, concepts, regulations, and practices to provide authoritative policy interpretations on controversial, or precedent setting human resources management issues; using analytical methods and techniques to provide technical advisory guidance on complex human resources needs and concerns for an organization; analyzing and providing solutions to complex human resources problems; providing human resources consulting services to organizational leadership, developing and overseeing human resources projects, and mentoring employees or related experience leading a group of employees. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 03/13/2024 of this vacancy announcement.
