You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the INSTALLATION & ENVIROMENTAL DIVISION of MCLB ALBANY GA.

Duties

You will be Responsible for managing and coordinating the environmental program for a large installation. You will develop an environmental master plan to document the status of existing projects and identify funding requirements for future projects. You will identify Enviromental abatement projects needed by the installation. You will be responsible for budget requests for program needs and provides guidance in the preparation of Circular A-106 documentation. You will serve as the main point of contact when Enviromental regulatory personnel visit and inspect the installation. You will plan, schedule and develop the criteria and requirements for conducting installation inspections to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulation. You will oversee the application and maintenance of the required permits in accordance with pertinent regulations. You will consult and provide guidance to appropriate installation, local, state or other federal organizations. you will review plans, specifications, and cost estimates for procurement by contract in support of the environmental program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You may be recalled to duty outside of normal working hours.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination. I am able to distinguish between colors and shades of colors.
  • Must possess and maintain certification in use of a respirator.
  • you must be willing and able to accept a supervisory position.
  • This position requires which requires a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for this position. I am willing and able to submit to a SCHR check.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Review proposed environmental legislation and regulations to determine impact on Navy installations and operation; Compile data and information to present briefing papers and recommendations to Senior Leadership; Draft new policies, processes, budget submittals and instructions for consideration by leadership; Lead an environmental program or project including plan development and coordination.
