This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Executive and Staff Office/Office of the Senior Advisor/Office of Data & Analytics.
This position primary purpose is supporting the Chief Data Officer by providing administrative support and guidance and tracking action items from the Administrator, DOJ, and other external and internal stakeholders.

As a Administrative Support Specialistyour typical work assignments may include:
Performing various functions such as budget administration, credit card and purchasing processing, internal controls, hand receipt management, calendar and contacts.
Interpreting rules, regulations, directives, correspondences, and related publications on matters of administration and keeps the Chief Data Officer well apprised of significant changes and developments.
Responding timely to senior management concerns including those of a sensitive, political, classified, or otherwise complex nature.
Serving as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for the Chief Data Officer and the primary point of contact
for assigned contracts.

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent,
For GS 11:
One year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties:1) Assisting in planning, developing, and organizing actions for the entire office; 2) Assisting with monitoring and tracking funding expenditures; 3) Assisting with performing budget execution, and executing purchases for the office.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
Some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have less than three years of graduate-level education as described in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least to 100 percent to qualify.
For GS 12:
One year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties: 1) Working closely with Human Resources in support of recruitment, award, staffing, and other personnel concerns; 2) Developing administrative practices to plan, schedule, and monitor work processes to assess and improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the office; 3) Monitoring and tracking funding expenditures against the contract to ensure burn rate of the contract is addressed timely and 4) Performing all aspects of budget execution, to include developing requirements, spending plans, and executing purchases for the office.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
