The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE) is a bureau within the United States Department of the Interior. OSMRE is responsible for establishing a nationwide program to protect society and the environment from the adverse effects of surface coal mining operations, under which OSMRE is charged with balancing the nation's need for continued domestic coal production with protection of the environment.

Duties

This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE) in Lakewood, CO. At the full performance level (GS-09)the major duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: 1. Review grant reports for accuracy and completion. 2. Ensure the reports meet the requirements in accordance with the 2 CFR 200, DOI and OSM policies. 3. Explain or justify decisions, conclusions, findings, or recommendations. 4. Perform lower level grants management functions such as uploading documents into grant management, record keeping and financial systems, find audit reports and SAM and FAPIS reports for the grant recipients. 5. Assist higher graded Grant Management Officers and Specialists with grant actions as developmental assignments. The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval. Financial Disclosure: You will be required to file an Employment and Financial Interest-OGE-450. Salary Range Information: GS-09: $ 66,670 - $ 86,670 per annum. First time hires to the federal government typically start at the beginning salary in the range for their respective grade level. This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position you must meet the (1) Education OR (2) Specialized Experience for the series/grade to which you are applying. A. Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-09, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: Maintaining or organizing an electronic document management system; Utilizing MS Excel to produce graphs and tables, spreadsheets, or perform calculations; Reviewing budgets for allowable costs; AND Communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders, verbally and in writing. MUST MEET ALL OR B. Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D., if related. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. OR C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
