The selectee of this position serves as a Property Management Specialist responsible for assisting the Property Manager with maintaining the district's accountable property records, conducting property inventory, and disposing of property. This position is located in the District of Columbia Superior Court / Washington, D.C.

Duties

As a Property Management Specialist at the GS-1101-9 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Providing technical advice, guidance, and assistance to District management on the appraisal, transportation, storage, repair, maintenance, management, and disposal of accountable property assets. Identifying and analyzing procedural and or administrative problems/issues in property management and disposal; and recommending solutions to problems. Reviewing invoices and receipts relative to administrative or judicial cases; and ensuring that charges are legitimate and accurate prior to certification. Organizing and evaluating facts; analyzing problems; and providing sound and timely recommendations. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

  • A valid driver's license is required for this position.
  • The ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, you must meet one of the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Reviewing request forms, hand-receipts, and cyclic inventories for accurate completion; Assisting property managers or hand-receipt holders with conducting inventories; Providing procedural advice to junior property specialists or clerks; and Identifying property management findings, issues, or problems. OR Education: You must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years (36 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major field of study in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or course of study that directly reflects the job-related competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualification and perform the duties of the position. OR Combination: You must have a combination of the specialized experience and graduate level education as described above that totals 100% when combined. Only graduate level education in excess of one year (18 semester hours) may be combined with experience to qualify at the GS-09 grade level. Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
