You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT in the FAMILY HOUSING OFFICE of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BLAZ. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will plan, organize and perform work required to ensure proper customer service and compliance with appropriate mandates of the Housing Program. You will receive and process complaints and related investigations concerning residents to leadership. You will process requests for permanent and temporary quarters and review requests for accuracy and completeness of data. You will conduct joint tenant-management walk-throughs of quarters to evaluate the cleanliness, maintenance and habitability of the unit, furnishings, equipment and facilities. You will monitor maintenance, property management and service contracts

Requirements

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ensuring proper customer service and compliance with appropriate mandates of the Housing Program; receiving and processing complaints and related investigations concerning residents; processing requests for permanent and temporary quarters AND scheduling and coordinating the maintenance and repair of housing units and conducting follow-up inspections to verify that discrepancies are corrected. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

1 full year of graduate level education

or

superior academic achievement

or

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience
