About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Evaluate property records automation to improve data input and information output. Plan supply functions and programs for inventory management division.. Perform inventory reconciliation for inventory management. Prepare correspondence relating to inventory discrepancies. Prepare documentation for inventory research.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
• This is a Term position scheduled to last two years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management. This position cannot be made permanent.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Preparing hand receipt form(s) for inventory accountability, 2) Conducting research on supply program to resolve inventory deficiencies, and 3) Performing inventory reconciliations for inventory management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: supply chain management or business management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
