About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. Employees work a 4/10 work week, Mon-Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and daily child care available. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center, (Mass transportation is available at minimal cost.) Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports/recreation activities.

Duties

Determines system or automation support requirements, and arranges for the support or coordinates development if required. Utilizes standard automated computer programs in order to prepare issuances of material. Evaluates the automation of property records to expedite and improve data input and information output. Reviews the installation’s physical inventory programs and assists in the development and implementation of plans to control inventory.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This is a Term position scheduled to last (8) eight years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
• Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the lower grade, GS-09 level or equivalent. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Conducting reviews of supply transactions; 2) Analyzing property records to improve accountability; and 3) Utilizing an automated supply system to maintain data. OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
