Duties

You will manage and perform work by applying knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design, characteristics and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems. You will apply knowledge of electronic theory, circuit design, and the operating characteristics of more familiar equipment to develop, test, or perform other technical work on electronic equipment. You will provide technical and programmatic advice, guidance and recommendations to management and stakeholders on critical issues. You will develop maintenance standards and procedures.

Requirements

• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Generally, current Federal employees applying to STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. All qualifications and pay band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and documented in your resume.
• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying techniques and principles of electronics and equipment for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems to interpret drawings, plans, and specifications; identifying and correcting deficiencies; performing installation, maintenance, operation, and/or testing duties. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
