About the Position: Serves as Inpatient Behavioral Health (IBH) Psychology Technician in Department of Behavioral Health (BH). This position is located at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center at Fort Eisenhower, GA.

Duties
Perform intake for behavioral health patients to determine the mental, emotional, or behavioral needs.
Obtain a thorough clinical history through interviews and medical records.
Perform group and individual counseling and education.
Assist in developing a treatment plan based on interviews, observations, records, and test results.
Document intervention and patient's response to treatment.
Coordinate activities and encourage participation from patients.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is an inclement weather position. The incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during inclement weather conditions.
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
- This position requires the incumbent to work rotating shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays and/or other schedules common to hospital operations.
- Must obtain within 30 days of employment and maintain certification through the America Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Must obtain within 6 months of employment and maintain Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMBD) required training.
- This position requires occasional TDY - 5%.
- Incumbent will have to pass a pre-employment physical to meet Physical Efforts requirements. This position may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
- This position may be a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees may be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Clinical interview of patients 2) documenting vital signs, 3) Administration and/or scoring of psychological tests, behavior observations, data collection; 4) Maintain patient referrals, organizational evaluations/ consultations; 5) Conduct staff training.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Psychology, Human Services, Child & Family Welfare, Counseling (ex. crisis, substance abuse, mental health, chemical dependence), Family and Community Services, Behavioral Science, Human Development, Social Work, Sociology, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
