Duties
Mows grass, lays sod, weeds flowerbeds, trims and edges walkways and lawns. Levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake.
Loads and unloads conveyances; moves materials using wheelbarrows, hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges supplies for storage; collects refuse and recyclable materials.
Prunes shrubs and trees; applies fertilizer, waters plants, cleans out drainage ditches, shovels snow from walks and driveways.
Adjusts, cleans, oils and changes attachments on machines.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- A Medical Examination is required.
- Must be available to work varying and/or rotating shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays and events.
- The dual compensation guidelines DO NOT apply to this position. All GS and NAF employees whether full time or part time are eligible to apply for this position.
- Must be able to frequently lift and carry moderate to heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Must also be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
Qualifications
1. Three (3) months of laboring experience required.

2. Must have the ability use, control and clean tools and power equipment used.
3. Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervisor of each task assigned.

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE:
Manual skill to lift and move moderately heavy objects. Skill and knowledge to safely operate simple power equipment and hand tools (lawn mowers, leaf blowers, edges and trimmers, scrubbers and buffers, steam cleaners and vacuums). A basic knowledge is required of routine maintenance procedures for power equipment.
