About the Position: Incumbent will serve as the program manager for all related military contingency plans, readiness, exercises, and operations programs. Directs and coordinates the full range of Division activities related to the assigned contingency programs including. Serve as the Division Contingency, Plans, Operations, and Exercises POC during duty and non-duty hours for the assigned programs.

Duties

This position functions as the program manager for all related military contingency plans, readiness, exercises and operations programs. Direct/coordinate the full range of Division assigned contingency programs including - preparations prior to a military contingency, operations during an event, and response and recovery activities during and following a military contingency. You will serve as staff advisor to Division contingency personnel on all matters pertaining to assigned programs. You will provide guidance to subordinate Districts in the accomplishment of assigned contingency programs. You will serve as the Division Contingency, Plans, Operations, and Exercises POC during duty and non-duty hours for the assigned programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Incumbent is required to remain accessible during duty and non-duty hours via telephonic communications system to respond to emergency operation activities.
  • Position may be required to perform TDY away from home station, which may include overnight travel, with short notice and for extended periods, 25% of the time.
  • Travel by boat, plane, helicopter, train or car may be required.
  • Travel during natural disasters and military contingencies may be subject to hazards.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • This position is designated as "Drug Testing Required". Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing IAW DA guidelines. Incumbent must complete DA 5019A.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) coordinating the work of technical teams of engineering, scientific disciplines and other professional skills in readiness planning to provide advice to commands, external organizations, and agencies; 2) prepares, implements, tests, and maintains plans, policies, procedures, and technical engineering guidelines related to the assigned readiness program; and 3) evaluates training and readiness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: ComplianceFundamentals and Operations of AccountingPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
