The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Production Management Specialist in a developmental capacity performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques. This is a developmental position. All training must be completed and regulatory requirements met prior to promotion.

Duties

Performs developmental assignments. Performs recurring assignments. Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. This position is subject to Administrative Careers with America (ACWA) Testing. For more information about ACWA go to: Administrative Careers with America (ACWA) - OPM.gov This is a Maintenance Workforce Development Program (MWDP) Position. To be eligible, you MUST be a WG, WL, WS, or GS-5 or below employee currently working with the Air Force, OR eligible to apply as a military spouse assigned to a Formal Training Plan. This position is a developmental (GS-05 Target GS-11) position. Individual selected may be promoted without further competition, upon meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. Starting salary indicated on this vacancy announcement is for the GS-05. This position is covered by a formalized training program and pay retention of 150% of the maximum rate of the basic pay is authorized. GS-05 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems which includes in assisting with providing supply chain management life cycle support to include developing enterprise demand/supply plans, developing/implementing sourcing strategies and executing the supply plan to meet customer requirements for TF39 and T56 engines. OR EDUCATION: A full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. GS-07 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes assisting with providing supply chain management life cycle support to include developing enterprise demand/supply plans, developing/implementing sourcing strategies and executing the supply plan to meet customer requirements for TF39 and T56 engines. OR EDUCATION: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts. GS-09 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes assisting with providing supply chain management control of depot level overhaul, modification and repair of assigned items with contract Sources of Repairs (SORs). OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Master's or equivalent Graduate Degree or completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-undergraduate education and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes planning and exercising management control of ongoing repair, maintenance, and modification projects for assigned systems and/or equipment as well as provide planning, guidance and program management control over the repair of assigned items with contract Sources of Repair (SORs). OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph. D. or equivalent Doctoral Degree or completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-graduate education and specialized experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-04 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-05 level. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and practices of Production Management. 2. Skill in applying basic principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform entry-level assignments in Production Management. 3. Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing. 4. Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions. 5. Ability to plan and organize work and consult effectively with co-workers. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
