Duties
As the senior maintenance analyst in the Air Education and Training Command directs and plans the activities of the Maintenance Analysis Section with command wide applicability, ensuring all maintenance activities comply with Air Force Instructions and regulatory requirements.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Evaluates Commander and Director strategic goals, recommends courses of action, changes and priorities and plans actions to implement the Commander's and Director's goals.
Directs the collection, validation and analysis of aircraft maintenance performance data from wing-level staff agencies, automated data systems, other staff agencies and other Major Commands (MAJCOMs).
Guides the collection, analysis and evaluation of aircraft maintenance data and develops annual logistics performance standards / goals (and other associated key logistics indicators) for all aircraft assigned to the Command.
Establishes aircraft maintenance data collection requirements, content and format and publishes monthly maintenance information.

- The employee must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
- "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- This is a key position. Incumbent must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series, 0301.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of a full range of oral, written and visual communication concepts, principles, policies, practices, methods, applications, techniques, standards, and trends applicable to researching, planning, developing, coordinating, guiding, and evaluating broad maintenance analyses programs; to develop new approaches to extremely difficult issues; and prioritizing requirements, strategies, and assets to perform the mission. Knowledge of missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, relationships, and operational planning objectives of Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) organizations; as well as knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to evaluate fleet health trends across multiple weapon systems simultaneously. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small organization.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
