About the Position: Serves as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
Duties
Review, analyze, and evaluate EEO program initiatives and activities to identify barriers.
Plan, prepare, develop, implement, and monitor the Management Directive 715 Report.
Work closely with Equal Employment Opportunity Complaints (EEOC) Administrative Judges, IRD investigators and Labor Counselors.
Responsible for processing informal EEO complaints.
Work with Department of the Army civilians to process Reasonable Accommodations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience reviewing regulations/policies/directives pertaining to a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program to provide assistance to team members and management officials, utilize fact finding methods in gathering all relevant information of requests received, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes experience reviewing regulations/policies/directives pertaining to a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program to provide assistance to team members and management officials, utilize fact finding methods in gathering all relevant information of requests received, ensuring compliance with applicable laws. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes experience reviewing regulations/policies/directives pertaining to a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Provide guidance to team members, management officials and complainants on procedures, utilize fact finding methods in gathering all relevant information of allegations received, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.Experience processing informal EEO complaints. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes experience researching and utilizing the laws, regulations, policies and practices of a Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Program. Experience processing informal EEO complaints. Experience and knowledge of reasonable accommodations. Provide EEO training to Department of Army civilians. Must have previous federal EEO experience at the GS-11 level. Experience with Disability Program Management is highly desired. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-09: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
