About the Position: Position is located at the Equal Employment Opportunity Office at Fort Wainwright, Alaska providing direction and managing the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Program for the installation.

Duties

Direct and manage the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program. Manage the processing and disposition of all individual and class EEO Complaints. Ensure cooperation with EEO Counselors and EEO personnel in prompt processing/investigation and resolution of complaints. Determine the need for and initiates action to obtain adequate personnel, funds, and equipment to manage a viable, model EEO program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience establishing, organizing, directing, and staffing an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office, advising management officials, on program requirements to include providing quality products, services, and direction on issues related to the administration and management of an EEO program and the impact of organization policies, plans, practices and decisions on personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
