About the Position: Serves as senior equipment specialist and advisor on fixed and rotary wing aircraft, flight simulators, and all associated support equipment to the USARAK, US Army Pacific (USARPAC) and CAB Commanders, Company Commanders, US Army National Guard and other federal agencies working in Alaska (e.g., NOAA, BLM, etc.), concerning maintenance, supply and training for all aircraft assigned to Alaska.

Duties

Advises and assists unit/activity commanders/managers and maintenance personnel to determine supply and maintenance deficiencies and maintenance capabilities of their organization. Investigates trends in maintenance problems and causes of unusual downtime. Reviews documented recurring events and solutions used to repair the equipment. Identifies causes of failure. Identifies equipment design problems and recommends changes through Aviation Engineering and Aviation enterprise channels. Prepares reports reflecting status of unserviceable DA Distribution Allocation Committee items, quantity acquisition dollar value, etc., and forwards it to higher headquarters. Prepares requests for technical assistance, under provision of AR700-4 (Logistics Assistance), when assistance is not available locally. Advises command and staff on all aspects of aviation maintenance and aviation ground support maintenance.

Requirements

  • Incumbent must possess or obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (T3).
  • Must be able to go TDY for approximately 5% of time.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.
