This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing, Office of Field Operations (OFO).

Duties

As a Field Correspondence Coordinator, you will: Guide staff, assign correspondence response work, establish priorities and packages responses to forward to the Office of Coordination and Compliance Division (CCD). Act as a liaison or handles the communication with persons and/or groups within and outside of the organization. Interact with a broad range of individuals including staff from the Coordination and Compliance Division, the Offices of Field Policy and Management (within the Network) and other HUD offices as appropriate, and staff within the network. Review electronic investigative cases files and other responsive, scan and copy hardcopy and electronic files, make recommendations and determinations regarding appropriate exclusions, and redact information contained in electronic and hardcopy documents as appropriate. Coordinate and collect data from many sources for inclusion in PIH and other relevant summary reports. Participate as a team member in collecting, compiling and confirming workload and cost data for inclusion into PIH annual reports and other summary and executive reports, as needed.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-09, you must have one (1) year of experience at the GS-07 level, or equivalent, which is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and has equipped the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position successfully. Specialized experience is defined as follows: -Analyzing policies and procedures to ensure correspondence is accurate, timely, and adheres to regulations; AND -Manages or prepares correspondence; AND -Providing advice and technical assistance to management on correspondence techniques and protocol. OR Education: You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows: -Master's or equivalent graduate degree, OR -2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; or a LL.B. or J.D., if related OR Combination: You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the specialized experience requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the education requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-09 you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

Education

The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
