About the Position: This position is located with the Infantry Brigade First Army Division West Headquarters, Fort Hood, Texas. Fort Hood rests in the beautiful "hill and lake" country of Central Texas between Killeen and Copperas Cove and is approximately 60 miles north of the capital city of Austin, 50 miles south of Dallas, and 150 miles north of San Antonio. Duties
Serves as a brigade constructive training simulations and simulator systems specialist.
As a digital training specialist and operational planner, performs work activities that provide the basis for operational readiness and future training needs.
Maintain a thorough training assessment model that depicts future training requirements and issues.
Draft programs of instruction (POIs), which provide the conceptual framework for training programs affecting officers, non-commissioned officers (NCOs), and enlisted soldiers.
Lead planning efforts for implementation of Live-Constructive-Virtual, and Gaming exercises.
Analyze the impact of postulated models and emerging technologies on training.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes gathering simulation training information to be utilized in the development of training instructions and/or plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph. D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Simulation & Visualization.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
