Duties
Provides accurate and reliable information on the administrative functions of the park, headquarters, regional office, or center. Interacts with managers, supervisors, and staff members on matters related to administrative services by attending meetings and serving on appropriate work teams/groups. Gives briefings on administrative topics; schedules events/meetings as necessary.
Collects data for the unit's operating budget, consolidates material into an annual unit budget; sets up controls to monitor expenses during the year; and recommends budget adjustments including restructuring budget allocations or work plans to deal with changing situations such as varying costs for equipment parts, or services, and changes in the availability of funds. If applicable, may work closely with the budget analyst for the unit. Alerts the Administrative Officer or other authority of significant issues/problems, such as overspending in assigned accounts.
Serves as advisor to the unit on procedures for the procurement of goods and services, and within delegated authority purchases supplies, equipment, and services for the unit utilizing a purchase card, or a blanket purchase agreement under micro-purchase authorities. Determines salient features of items or services required, contacts suppliers and merchants to obtain information and pricing, and prepares purchase requests and documents for the Contracting Office.
Provides human resources information and assistance to the unit. In that regard assists with the preparation of position descriptions and organization charts and prepares Requests for Personnel Action. Submits these documents to the Servicing Human Resources Office (SHRO) for the unit, and coordinates with that office on the completion of the requested action.
Serves as the primary administrative point of contact for the unit. Responsible for the administrative oversight of various administrative processes, which may include processing financial, procurement, property, human resources, and other administrative forms or documents for the unit. Maintains tracking logs, action items, and manages administrative suspense items and transaction records.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 for each federal position listed as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of qualifying experience that you will be granted. To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: operation of computerized information systems, purchasing, property management, files maintenance, budget racking, and preparation of a variety of forms and reports. To be creditable, your experience must have involved the performance of various office duties, including typing correspondence, memos, reports, and forms from rough drafts, and notes. You must include hours per week worked.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: performing various administrative processes such as processing financial, procurement, property, human resources and other administrative forms or documents for the unit; collecting and consolidating budget materials and data into annual unit budgets; and providing human resources information and assistance on the preparation of position descriptions, organizational charts, and/or request for personnel actions. You must include hours per week worked.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
