A successful candidate in this position will serve as a Human Resources Classification Specialist providing leadership, direction and coordination to effectively manage major components of the federal human resources (HR) classification program in the Employment and Workforce Planning Division.
Duties
As a Human Resources Specialist -RPC, you will:
Classify a wide range of scientific, engineering, professional, administrative, technical and clerical NNSA Excepted Service and Demonstration Project (Competitive Service) positions, with diverse knowledge, skills, abilities, and conditions of employment.
Collaborate with Employment and Workforce Planning and Classification Team members on projects and activities that publicize, streamline and improve Position Management and Classification.
Provide a wide range of authoritative HCM advisory services to employees and managers throughout NNSA, in one or more human resource functions.
Review assigned organization Position Description Packages for currency, correctness, completeness and compliance with classification regulatory requirements during day- to-day operations or as assigned part of Position Management and Classification audits.
Explain required corrections to HR Specialist, Processing unit member, and/or develops corrective actions such as mass updates to remediate data.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band, or GS grade in the Federal service, i.e. NQ-02 or GS-12.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience performing all three of the items listed below.
-Experience providing advice and guidance to managers, other human resources professionals, and employees on Title 5 federal civilian classification regulations, policies, and flexibilities.
-Experience resolving complex classification issues to meet managements staffing needs in a timely and effective manner.
-Experience developing and interpreting HR policies and procedures for implementation into the workforce.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
