THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number NGT5176000 and is part of the TN ARMY, National Guard. This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT), Chapter 103 (Volunteer Chapter).

Duties

As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, GS-0346-09, you will develop, implement and evaluate the logistics and property accountability policies for the organization. Responsible for the property book operations of the organization in the areas of inventory management, storage management, equipment coordination and supply management. Ensure compliance with the command supply discipline program (CSDP), command maintenance discipline program, and other-directed command inspection programs. Establish quality procedures and oversees the edit of all property management source documentation. Ensure documents are accurate and properly input into the automated system. May be required to represent the National Guard and the unit Commander in the community. Supervise subordinates performing supply work. Provide technical guidance and assistance to all organizational logistic personnel individuals pertaining to the accountability of all property assigned to the organization. Perform other duties as assigned.

• Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
• Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
• For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
• Irregular and overtime hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:Experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 12 months specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training which involved detailed knowledge of organizations and their functions in logistical support (i.e., supply, maintenance, quality assurance, facilities). Experience planning and organizing work assignments. Knowledge of the operational aspects of equipment authorized for the organization and authorized substitutes sufficient to advise senior leadership on the mission degradation resulting from limited availability of authorized equipment. Knowledge of supply regulations and directives sufficient to establish organization management policies and procedures.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-09 SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, LL.B, J.D., or have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

GS-09 COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
