This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. Incumbent serves as a supervisory archivist in the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library operated under the terms of the Presidential Records Act (PRA) and is responsible for planning and carrying out professional archival processes on Presidential records and donated collections, and related management and administrative duties. Incumbent works under the general direction of the Deputy Director.

Duties

As a Supervisory Archivist, you will: Supervise acquisition, reference, review, arrangement, description, web access, preservation, appraisal, and declassification activities in the following areas: textual archives, audiovisual archives, and reference service as well as performs the full range of archival duties as needed. Define and schedule overall work to be accomplished within assigned program areas to assure achievement of specific policies and objectives. Oversee the management of the Presidential records and other archives in all media formats, including textual, audiovisual, and electronic. Direct archivists and archives specialists and technicians and participates in the review of documents for the purpose of closing them or opening them for research in accordance with law, library policy, or donor restrictions. Serve within the Library and NARA as a senior resource for information on access to Presidential records, preservation of historical materials and the overall handling and dissemination of textual and non-textual archival materials.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. To be qualified for this position at the GS-13 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Experience leading a a team, program, or project; AND - Analyzing, evaluating, and developing policies and procedures related to records management services.; AND - Interpreting and applying federal laws, regulations, legal decisions, policies, procedures, and directives pertaining to the receipt and processing of requests made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.

Education

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Basic requirements for all grades:

Applicants who meet the basic requirements described in the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) are fully qualified for the specified entry grade (generally grade GS-5). Applicants who wish to qualify for positions at higher grade levels (generally grade GS-7 and above) must also meet the requirements shown in the table on page IV-A-22, in addition to meeting the basic requirements.

A. Bachelor's degree in archival science or bachelor's degree with a major that includes 18 semester hours in archival science, history and/or in political science or government, and 12 semester hours in one or any combination of the following: archival science, history, American civilization, economics, political science, public administration, or government.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience - at least 30 semester hours that included courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
