About the Position: This position is with the US Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, Plans & Operations Division, Quality Assurance Branch, Fort Hunter Liggett, CA. Located on the Central Coast of California between Los Angeles and San Francisco; nearest towns - King City 26 miles north and Paso Robles 50 miles south; in a rural area - a vehicle is a must; bus, car and van pools are available from select locations.

Duties

Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure food program compliance. Review facility operations to ensure service and quality are maintained. Develop surveillance techniques to inspect food service facilities and food service equipment. Monitor and report on equipment use trends. Ensure contractors are in conformance with food service contractual requirements. Certify the contractor's performance of dining facility operations for the installation. Assist the contractor representative in developing reports on surveillance plans. Serve as the Food Program Management Office primary hand receipt holder for food services equipment. Observe kitchen, dining, and storage areas to ensure safety and sanitary standards are met. Investigate customer complaints to maintain quality.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Background Investigation is required.
  • Business Travel awau from the duty location is up to 10%.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position may require evening, weekend, and/or holiday hours.
  • This position requires successfully completion Army approved defensive driving certification course. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required and must be maintained for the position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Food Service Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
