The Program Support Assistant assists ad directly reports to the Recovery Services Program Manager. Duties are varied, non-routine, and consist of handling data and coordination of programs organized under Recovery Services..
The PSA:
tracks consults and identifies open access for patient care.
uses and helps other use a computer, computer applications (i.e., Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, access, etc.), and video conferencing equipment.
meets and interacts with people of both professional and administrative orientation.
efficiently organizes information (i.e., through use of databases and computer applications) for the purpose of program tracking, reporting, evaluation and improvement.
assists program staff with correspondence to Veterans and orientation of staff to program processes.
assists with mining and distributing requested program data from national data warehouse, including program performance data.
assists the Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery (ICMHR) Program Coordinator, Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP), and the Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) Program Leads with administrative functions of their respective programs.
Acts as an administrative liaison between the Recovery Services program and various internal partners, such as: fiscal services, transportation services, human resources and staffing, purchasing, travel, PIV, information technology, GSA fleet, etc.
Establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and records or various types that may be needed or will assist in the efficient operation of the office.
Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, materials, publications, regulations, and directives.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Ad/Hoc Telework may be authorized.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 03/08/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05 level. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your specialized experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of administrative experience (equivalent to the GS-5 level) timekeeping, using computer programs to track information, communicating effectively, preparing written communications, gathering information, organizing information, and preparing reports.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Some work may require movement between offices, hospitals, warehouses, and similar areas for meetings and to conduct work. Work may also require walking/standing, in conjunctions with travel to and attendance at meetings and/or conferences away from the work site. Incumbent may carry and lift light items weighing less than 15 pounds.
