This position serves as a Litigation Support Specialist located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD), Executive Office (EO), Information Technology Management (ITM) Staff, Litigation Technology Support Services (LTSS) Team in Washington DC. The mission of the NSD is to coordinate the Department's efforts in carrying out its core mission of combatting terrorism and protecting national security.

The primary purpose of this position of this position is to provide electronic litigative technology support for NSD cases and national security related matters. A Litigation Support Specialist at full performance level will perform duties such as but not limited to: Providing preliminary information technology (IT) support to stakeholders of electronic litigation (eLitigation) technologies. Proposing controls to ensure all program investigations are in compliance with the appropriate governing procedures, legal precedent, department policies and practices, and litigation technology industry standards. Consulting with all levels of management other federal agencies, and foreign and commercial organizations.

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
  • You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
  • Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Litigation Support Specialist at (GS-0301-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). To qualify for a GS-0301-14 Litigation Support Specialist you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical eLitigation support to trial attorneys. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 03/13/2024.
