Duties
You will conduct investigations of suspected violations of criminal and civil regulations.
You will issue permits to authorized individuals for access to designated areas for the purpose of hunting, fishing, trapping and other authorized dispersed outdoor activities using permit sales and recreation access management services system.
You will respond to reported violations and takes independent and appropriate action to apprehend, detain, and charge suspects or secure the violated site for further investigation.
You will use proper and legal techniques to investigate violations of state and federal wildlife laws/installation regulations.
You will make reports that include investigative material, witness statements, pictures and other information essential to a professional investigation.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to attend and complete the Land Management Police Training (LMPT) at the Federal Law Enforcement Center.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Planning, organizing and conducting fish, wildlife and hunting investigations including interviews, and gathering and preserving evidence; and writing reports related to criminal investigations and law enforcement operations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows:
- I have successfully completed master's or equivalent graduate degree or
- I have successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or

- I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
