About the Position: Serves as an Ammunition Supply Specialist, U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Duties

Receive, issue and ship all types of ammunition and input data into Standard Army Ammunition System - Modernization (SAAS-MOD). Performs review and management of property accountability records and document register files. Responsible for providing staff direction and technical guidance to one or more elements of the command and supported customers in ammunition supply management involving ammunition authorization, acquisition, and accountability; inventory management. Performs review and management of all property inventory requirements in-accordance with regulation. Research and analysis using supply background knowledge to determine appropriate nomenclature and federal supply classification form established indexes of item names and the application of the federal catalog system.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban (Lautenberg Amendment). This act bans individuals convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence and certain others from possession or access to firearms or ammunition.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
