About the position: This position will be assigned to the Silver Wings Swimming Pool on Luke AFB, AZ. This is a Flexible position, 0-40 hours per work week and no benefits. First applicant list will be pulled 13-Mar-24 and then every two weeks until position(s) are filled.

Duties

Observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administer first aid, and call for medical assistance if and when needed. May operate water pumps, and control chemical additives to ensure water meets specified standards. Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Have an approved and current nationally recognized certification in lifesaving and water rescue, basic first aid, and CPR (both child and adult).
• Satisfactory completion of installation records checks, state and national criminal background checks may be required for positions that provide lifesaving duties for children.

Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of swimming activities, rules and procedures and skill in the use and maintenance of various pool and safety equipment.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
