The Income Verification Division has primary responsibility for implementing and operating national programs relating to financial assessments, income verification of Federal Tax Information, eligibility and enrollment, and revenue enhancement activities for health care benefits. The primary purpose of the position is to support the program mission through analysis of data and report building
Duties
Adapts the style and format of products to the medium or publication in which it will appear.
Reviews all external communications produced through the Program Office (PO) to ensure documents meet the standards of the Plain Language (PL) Act.
Maintains a suspense system to ensure that all IVD inquiries are answered within the appropriate timeframe as prescribed by VHA regulations.
Assists in developing procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems.
Analyzes results of audits and reports and provides recommendations to management.
Assists the supervisor in labor relations negotiations participating in management labor relations strategy sessions.
Prepares written responses on a broad spectrum of complex inquiries from internal and external customers.
Receives and processes correspondence containing payments, VIC cards, wallets, etc.
Develops management positions reports for topics of high-level concerns
Performs other duties as assigned
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

GS-09 Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary with long periods of sitting at a desk, working with computers daily. Some work may require walking in offices and similar areas for meetings. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite. The work does not require any special physical effort.
