About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.

Duties

Serve as the Deputy G-4, responsible for the integration of supply, maintenance, transportation and services conducting generating force operations on Fort Novosel and other military bases. Serve as the senior logistical advisor to the G1/4 Director and USAACE leadership. Participate in the development of the Program Objective Memorandum (POM). Serve as a member of the Program Budget Advisory Committee to establish and assess logistical funding requirements. Develop policies and strategic/operational plans in coordination with senior management officials while staying abreast of regulations, legislation, and policies that impact command logistics. Utilize knowledge and skill in oral and written communication techniques to organize and present coherent briefings to management. Represent the Command/Directorate in meetings and conferences with subordinate commands. Perform full scope of supervisory duties for a staff of sustainment professionals, providing guidance, direction, coaching, and mentoring in all areas of human resource management. Implement and manage the USAACE Command Supply Discipline Program.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • This position requires the employee to travel away from the normal duty station on a frequent basis up to approximately 15%.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level position in the federal service GS-12.
