This position is part of the Associate Administrator for Management and Budget, Department of Energy. A successful candidate in this position will serve as Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Technical Reviewer), with responsibilities pertaining to personnel records, processing all personnel actions, maintenance of files, records disposition, quality reviewing personnel actions processed, and other similar personnel and administrative matters.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service i.e., NQ-02 or GS-12 Qualified experience should include: The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized experience for this position includes: 1. Experience determining Nature of Action (NOA), and Legal Authority Code (LAC) from the Guide to Processing Personnel Actions (GPPA) and pay setting polices to oversee a variety of federal personnel actions in an automated system. 2. Determining course of action in correcting federal personnel records in an automated system. 3. Performing technical/quality reviews of personnel actions to ensure they are processed timely and accurately in compliance with all related requirements. 4. Conducting reporting procedures, trend analyses and measurements at various points in processes to identify problem/weakness in work processes, procedures, and information systems, to include recommending and implementing corrective actions. 5. Providing authoritative advice and guidance to management officials, employees, and external customers on a variety of complex HR problems relating to HR systems. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section. If you are eligible for career transition assistance plans such as ICTAP or CTAP, you must meet the definition of "well qualified" which is defined as having a score of 85 or better. You must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
