About the Position: As a Budget Analyst you will perform a wide range of financial analytic and management functions within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller) [OASA(FM&C)].

Duties

Review and analyze authorization and appropriation legislation for impact to the Other Procurement, Army (OPA) appropriation. Perform a wide range of financial analytic and management functions related to the day-to-day management of the OPA appropriation. Support independent analysis of program budget and financial management as they relate to OPA; make recommendations to ASA (FM and C) and Army Leaders on current year OPA issues.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Level 2 Financial Management certified position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

GS-13 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes monitoring the execution of an organization's budget with different appropriations; developing budget recommendations to support command operations; adjusting short and long-range budget requirements to ensure the availability of funds; applying new methods of analysis and practices to resolve deficiencies in the financial systems; Analyzing budgetary problems in all phases of budget/financial administration. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationFinancial Management SystemsPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement GS-13: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
