This position provides a primary focal point for coordinating, planning, policy, program execution, resource management, external relationships, and accountability across the five Rulemaking Offices in carrying out the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) safety and policy programs within the Office of Rulemaking and the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT).

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications.To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include:
Experience using technology to streamline and enhance processes.
Experience interacting with customers, and analyzing administrative policy issues, evaluating programs and processes, and identifying and proposing solutions.
Experience maintaining budget processes as they relate to regulatory policy and programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in providing consultation regarding the development of policy and management of regulatory operations.
Demonstrated experience in evaluating, interpreting, and providing guidance on budgets/funding for transportation safety or policy activities.
Demonstrated experience interfacing, coordinating, and collaborating with office, agency and federal partners, industry and stakeholders that provided advice and recommendations on transportation safety or policy activities.
Demonstrated experience utilizing, interpreting, and applying Federal laws, regulations, executive orders, and budget processes as they relate to regulatory policy and programs.
