This position is with the St. Paul District, Engineering and Construction Division (E&C). The St. Paul District E&C designs water resource projects to benefit the people of Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Iowa, and the nation. These projects support inland navigation, flood risk management, and environmental restoration. E&C also provides emergency response to disasters.

Duties

Prepare and/or edit reports on all construction work handled by Area Office. Plan and accomplish normal and recurring work independently. Ability to make sound judgment based on the development and evaluation of information found from various sources. Responsible for managing trackers to ensure records are up to date. Track and record pay estimates and or funding related records. Assists with budget management. Ability to interpret organizational regulations, policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting two of the following: 1) Plan and accomplish various administrative tasks: 2) Assists with budget and/or funding related tasks: 3) Maintain trackers to ensure training records are current: 4) Recommend action based upon established guidelines: 5) utilize automated software, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Power Point to prepare correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: A full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
