About the Position: This position is with the 9th Mission Support Command, Family Coordinator Office located at Fort Shafter Flats, Hawaii.
Duties
Develop, manage and evaluate the Family Readiness program within an organization.
Coordinate a variety of Family Program events such as organization days, mobilization departure and welcome home ceremonies.
Project budget requirements and prepare funding requests for the program.
Establish objectives and assess program efficiency using a wide variety of analytical evaluation techniques.
Interpret and adapt regulations, policies and laws tailoring them to the needs of the organization.
Brief leadership and staff on the status of the Army Family program, concerns and accomplishments.
Oversee the establishment of Family Support Groups within the organization and serve as advisor to staff and volunteers.
Facilitate, teach and mentor at Army Family program events.
Exercise supervisory responsibilities over the daily activities of a full-time staff to include planning, assigning and reviewing work of subordinates.
Develop performance plans and objectives to evaluate employees.

Basic Requirement
To qualify for this position, you must meet a basic requirement in addition to the qualification requirement. The basic requirement for this position is:
Bachelor's degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Minimum Qualifications
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, you must also meet the qualification requirements below:
Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating a family support program (such as family readiness groups, family/volunteer recognition, and community partnership); providing supervision, guidance, advice and technical assistance to employees, managers, organizations and/or families on programs to improve both duty and family life; arranging and/or providing briefings, orientations, or trainings; tracking and reporting information using a variety of automated systems, overseeing and administering family programs budget and expenditures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
