You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the Networks & Comms - Tampa (55220) code under the COMMUNICATION AND NETWORKS (55000) competency of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.
Duties
You will be responsible for performing work in support of various Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) systems and subsystems.
You will serve as project lead to create, plan, and implement improvements to existing networks.
You will provide technical support to the Network Operations Center (NOC) to include monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting the Wide Area Network (WAN) to maintain optimal performance and prevent catastrophic failures.
You will support overall transition and sustainment plans and take action as necessary to meet service level agreements and schedules.

- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 441 level Advanced/Master within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responsible for the administration, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of multiple technologies associated with network infrastructure and cloud computing environment.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Define and maintain network architecture and infrastructure.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services, IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Support troubleshooting, problem isolation and resolution efforts, ensuring outages area resolved in a timely manner.
3. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Interface with sponsor program managers and their support staff to manage expectations.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency must include: Create, plan, and implement improvements to existing networks.
